Why MoneyFacts?

Most money questions have a short answer and a long one. We give you the short answer first, then show the working — the rules of thumb lenders use, real example figures in tables, and the traps to watch for. Every figure is labeled as a typical range or example, and every guide carries the same promise: educational information only, never personal financial advice.

About MoneyFacts

MoneyFacts is a small, independent guide site built on a simple idea: the money questions people actually ask — How much house can I afford? What credit score do I need? What on earth is PMI? — deserve answers in plain English, with the arithmetic shown.

Every guide on this site follows the same format. A quick answer at the top for people in a hurry. Then the full explanation, at least one worked table with real example numbers, and a short FAQ at the end. We write for readers in the United States and other Western countries, and our examples use typical US figures — always labeled as ranges and examples, never as promises.

MoneyFacts is educational only. We are not financial advisers, lenders or brokers, and nothing here is personal financial advice. For decisions about your own mortgage, debts or savings, a licensed professional who knows your full situation is the right person to ask.

MoneyFacts is part of the TapeToolHQ network of free article and guide sites — you will find the rest of the family in the footer below, from US college and education guides to American knowledge answers, state facts and holiday explainers.
